Two Yoga poses for Beginners that are Perfect before Stretching

Published on January 27 2020

Yoga is essentially an exercise routine suitable for everyone. The ancient exercising routine has been linked with mental, physical, as well as spiritual development. Born centuries ago in India, yoga has created a revolution in the world. Doing a full-time day job, or being a domestic goddess, has its perks but with time it tends to drain our energy.

A bit of stretching and right breathing exercises have known to release the pent-up tension and relax the body. If you are looking for simple Yoga for beginners, that relax the body and calm the mind, then yoga poses are perfect for you.

  1. Sleeping Swan pose

The Sleeping Swan pose or the Kapotasana targets shoulders, neck, back, legs, and hips. To make the stretching more effective, focus your attention on breathing in and out through the nose.

To start with Kapotasana, you will need a pillow and a mat. First, sit straight on the floor keeping the pillow in the front. Now bend the left knee, while bringing the left foot close to the right thigh. Next, lift the buttocks and extend the other leg behind the body. Keeping the body in the center, gently push the body forward on the pillow. Lastly, extend your arms forward while slightly bending the elbows. Stay in this position for eight to ten breaths. Repeat with the other leg

  1. Bridge pose

The Setu Bandha Sarvangasana or the Bridge pose helps in relaxing the hip and leg muscles. For the exercise, first, lie straight facing up. Now, bend the knees keeping the feet on the floor. Extend the arms to the side and face the palm up. In the next step keeping the shoulder down, try to lift the hips forming a diagonal line from knee to shoulders. Stay in the position for ten breaths and then lower the body.

These simple exercise routines can help you in getting a better shape. With regular sessions, you will feel more relaxed – mentally as well as physically.
